Our mission is to support and connect the creative endeavors of independent artists, writers, musicians, actors, filmmakers and all those who view their life as an act of creation.
We would love to share what you’ve created with our readers. Here are a few guidelines:
All submissions may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. We hope that you have a wonderful experience connecting with our readers, and we’re happy for you to share your work elsewhere as well.
We currently do not provide monetary compensation in exchange for publication, but we welcome you to include links to any of your business endeavors in your bio. You are also welcome to submit your information to be featured on our list of Creative Affiliates, if appropriate. You, the author, reserve all rights to your work.
If your article has been previously published on a website or publication that you do not own, please obtain permission ahead of time and notify us of any citation needed.
If we decide to publish your submission, we will notify you, and send you the permanent link once it has been posted. If your submission is not a good fit for us, we may make suggestions of other venues to share your work, or send notes for possible revisions.
All submissions need to be accompanied by short bio with any relevant social media or personal website links and a head shot.
Your writing is a gift to the world. Consider what you want that gift to be, and what you want your readers to take away from what you’ve written.
We are looking for creative content:
- Short Stories and Short-shorts
- Creative Personal Essay (i.e. storytelling)
- Photo Essay
- Art journaling or similar
And editorial content:
- Support/advice on artistic work
- Writer’s Block
- Balancing work and life
- Finding inspiration
- Book Reviews on relevant topics*
*If you aren’t sure if your topic fits, please email us with a short pitch at email@example.com.
Please send all submissions in a Word document format.
A great ballpark length for articles in an online format is 800 – 1000 words. If your article is over 2000 words, we may suggest revisions or a series.
Creative use of punctuation and capitalization should be reserved for poetry submissions, and excessive typos, spelling and grammar errors will result in a “no thanks.”
Video blogs, short films, interviews, spoken word poetry and other types of video projects are wonderful! If you would like to submit a video, please send the Youtube or Vimeo link, as well as a short intro about the video, either within the email or as a separate Word document.
Please send all photos or photos of your artwork as .jpg or .jpeg attachments to your email. A short write up to accompany them (quotes and/or poetry are often a nice accompaniment) can go within the email or as a Word document.
If you are interested in blogging a playlist, please send the embed code or link (Spotify or Soundcloud are preferable) and a short write-up to introduce it. Soundcloud is also a great way to upload and share your own music creations. If you are interested in blogging a podcast of an interview or similar, please contact us about the format so we can assist you.
If we haven’t covered it, and you still have questions, ask away!
There’s really only one thing you need to remember. And please, do it every day:
