About Be You

What is Be You Media Group?

Sometimes you have an idea that starts in that perfect space between asleep and awake.

It’s somewhere between a thought and a dream. Many times it stays there, or at best, we jot it down, mention it to a friend.

And then there are the ones that sink their teeth in.
You just can’t let go of them, and they won’t let go of you.

I love helping people connect. You’re working on making a movie? Oh hey, I know a few actors. You want to self publish a book? Let me introduce you to my friend who does freelance editing. Just opened a new yoga studio? Well, I know someone who does amazing murals…you should meet her. Besides writing, connecting with others is how I feel most creative.

(And really, what is writing but another form of connection?)

So as I’ve seen this happening over and over, I asked myself, “How could I do this on a large scale? I know so many wonderfully creative people…and they know creative people, and so on. How can I help them all connect?”

Enter Be You Media Group.

Our mission is to support and connect the creative endeavors of independent artists, writers, musicians, actors, filmmakers and all those who view their life as an act of creation.

The wonderful thing about independent media and creative projects is that they stay fresh and authentic. The downside is that often they are unable to connect with the resources they need or reach the audience that will benefit the most.

On July 4th 2013, Independence Day, we launched the magazine portion of the site:

The goal of the magazine is to share content that fosters this ideal of creative independence, and gives support and encouragement to those who are looking to create their most authentic life.

  1. I am so delighted I found my way here to this site! I am at an interesting point in my own creative experiences and am craving venues that support that incredibly difficult and rewarding process of being true to ourselves. Thank you and I look forward to connecting further in time.

  2. I found you on Facebook and am in love with this! Connection. What a novel concept in this day and age where everyone is out for one person; themselves. I love connection and connecting with like minded individuals. I started writing for that reason. I knew that others out there must be thinking/feeling the same way I did. My favorite part of posting my work is when someone messages me to say “hey! That’s me your writing about!”. I am in competition with no one. I only hope that I can help some along my path. Thank you for this wonderful site!
